FIT Innovation proudly sponsored the TRA VISIONS Young Researchers Awards during the Transport Research Arena (TRA) 2026, one of Europe’s leading platforms for transport research and innovation.
As sponsor of the Crossmodal Passenger Transport category, FIT Innovation supported a new generation of researchers whose work is contributing to the development of more seamless, integrated and sustainable mobility solutions. Supporting young researchers means investing in the ideas and innovations that will help shape the future of climate-neutral and user-centric transport systems.
The Young Researchers Awards ceremony took place on Monday, 18 May 2026, during the Opening Plenary of TRA 2026 in Budapest. FIT Innovation was pleased to meet the nominees throughout the event, while Paola Astegiano, CEO of FIT Innovation, presented the award for the Crossmodal Passenger Transport category on stage.
The 2026 edition of the TRA VISIONS Awards recognised outstanding individuals advancing transport research and strengthening collaboration between academia, industry and policymakers. Four award categories were presented: the Young Researchers Awards, the Senior Researchers Awards, a Special Honorary Award recognising lifetime achievements, and the new Host Award, celebrating regional innovation in line with the event’s theme, Re-Generation in Transport.
The official highlights video captured the most significant moments of the TRA VISIONS Awards ceremonies, while the commemorative publication presented the winners, shortlisted finalists and the organisations that supported the Young Researchers and Host Awards.
The Young Researchers Awards were also sponsored by ERTRAC – European Road Transport Research Advisory Council (Road), Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking (Rail), WaterborneTP (Waterborne), SESAR Joint Undertaking (Airborne), ALICE – Alliance for Logistics Innovation through Collaboration in Europe (Crossmodal Logistics), UITP, and Arriva Group (Crossmodal Passenger).
