The project

Problem and objectives

CHORUS is an innovative project funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe programme. The project tackles the complexities of transport safety and efficiency by providing a unified multi-actor coordination framework for the Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM) ecosystem. CHORUS develops innovative solutions through a multi-layer architecture that will be implemented at seven demonstration sites across Europe. Its main objectives include integrating different passenger and freight transport modes, developing data-driven and AI-based traffic management systems, improving the user experience through personalised travel recommendations and reducing urban congestion, thus contributing to European goals on environmental sustainability and road safety.

The role of FIT Innovation

WP1 leader · Strategic planning for multi-actor orchestration

FIT Innovation plays a leading role in CHORUS as leader of Work Package 1, dedicated to strategic planning for multi-actor orchestration. In particular, FIT INNOVATION coordinates the analysis and definition of the project’s technical and social requirements, developing the methodology to identify the needs of stakeholders and citizens through local forums and workshops with the communities involved. This ensures that the solutions developed meet both technical and social needs, with particular attention to Vulnerable Road Users (VRUs) and to the integration of autonomous vehicles into the urban fabric and different traffic scenarios. Finally, FIT INNOVATION is responsible for business modelling and the commercial exploitation of the technologies and innovations that will be implemented in CHORUS.
