The project

Problem and objectives

With a consortium of around 50 partners, eBRT2030 aims to demonstrate the applicability of a new generation of eBRT systems in different urban contexts, through innovative, cost-effective solutions enhanced by new automation and connectivity features. The main objective is to drastically reduce emissions, pollutants and congestion, supporting the transition to sustainable, zero-emission transport across Europe. eBRT2030 works directly with end users to understand how the eBRT services developed can be improved to better meet citizens' needs. The project also places a strong focus on improving the passenger experience and increasing access to mobility in underserved areas and in regions with greater transport needs.

The eBRT2030 solutions are tested in real-life demos in Europe and beyond, involving public transport operators, bus manufacturers, technology providers and academia. An important goal of the project is to transfer and apply eBRT solutions not only in Europe but also to tackle pollution and emissions challenges in developing countries.

The role of FIT Innovation

Task 6.1 leader · Demonstrator implementation

FIT INNOVATION leads Task 6.1, dedicated to the implementation of the demonstrators. FIT INNOVATION is responsible for monitoring and coordinating the implementation activities, ensuring – through an Agile methodology – that they are carried out on time and as planned.

In particular, these activities involve two clusters of demonstrators: 1) EBUS-based eBRT systems, including Barcelona, Amsterdam and Athens; 2) IMC-based eBRT systems, including Rimini and Prague.

Some monitoring activities also support the international cluster, which includes Bogotá.
